Introducing ROAM Maui, the World's Newest Semi-Private Air Carrier

ROAM Maui, a new semi-private carrier, recently launched its service between the Hawaiian island of Maui and three destinations in the mainland United States: Los Angeles, San Jose, and Seattle. ROAM is the first of its kind for Maui, as it utilizes a membership-based model specifically for Maui homeowners.
ROAM is founded by partners Chris Early, David Young, and Darin Greer. It is an affiliate company to air mobility consultancy ROAM Private Air, specializing in on-demand charter, global music tours, corporate jet charter, and jet membership.
David Young, ROAM Maui's managing partner said, "ROAM Maui provides a clear alternative to private charter for homeowners on Maui who travel frequently between their homes and businesses at a far more economical price point…and we provide an upgrade in the convenience, time savings and on-board service experience for those accustomed to first class commercial."

The company was created to fulfill the needs of Maui residents who frequently travel on private jets and in first class on commercial planes. Currently, ROAM is available to residents living in five communities on the Hawaiian island: Kaanapali Golf Estates, Kapalua Resort Association, Kula Community Association, Makena Golf & Beach Club, and Wailea Resort Association. According to ROAM, the fleet can accommodate a maximum of 360 subscribers.
ROAM introduces a new way of air travel, where passengers can use private terminals and enjoy the benefits of flying privately while still flying according to a predetermined schedule. Every city has an aircraft rotation each week, so travelers can pick and choose where they are flying to in advance.
This experience, as described on the ROAM Maui website, creates the "ultimate private club in the sky and [introduces] an unmatched benefit never before seen in the vacation/second home ownership industries." Homeowners will have the opportunity to purchase a vertical family membership which allows a family (and their pets) to travel with ROAM yearly. The charter club comes with the PAWS club, which gives pets first-class treatments onboard, from special welcome kits to onboard entertainment. The membership plans are a limitless, all-you-can-fly program, which means there are unlimited flights throughout the year with no blackout dates.
ROAM uses a fleet of two VIP-configured Boeing 737-700s operated by Hillwood Airways. The interior boasts 58 first-class seats and 14 rows of partially lie-flat seats. Amenities include on-demand entertainment, an open bar, and an onboard air concierge where travelers can plan itineraries. Onboard meals are prepared by Charlie Palmer, winner of "Best Chef in America."
